MARGARET AND HER SISTER NATHLINE JONES TOGETHER WITH THEIR MOTHER VISIT SLAFo’s PROGRAMS OFFICER AT HIS RADIO MERCURY STUDIO
Margaret and Nathline Jones together with their mother Fatnatu visited the Programs Officer of the Sierra Leone Albinism Foundation (SLAFo) Mohamed Kelfala Sesay at his Radio Mercury Studio at Bathurst Street on Saturday 20th June 2020. Margaret is a student of IPAM and Nathline is a student of FBC. They have been able to shine and conquer above all odds.
The surprise visit was to check on Kelfala and know how the Foundation is fearing on. The visitors were happy when Kelfala told them about the Foundation’s new Secretariat. They express their delight and said they are now happy because Persons with Albinism PWA have got an office where they will be channelling all thier issues.
This is the first ever and only Albinism Secretariat in Sierra Leone. The setting up of this Secretariat is part of SLAFo’s Building a Resilient Albinism Network for Development in Sierra Leone (BRAND-SL) project which is supported by the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA).
Albinism is unique and PWA have huge potential if only they are given the support.
Let us make the world a better place for all and let us say no to discrimination and stigmatization.
SLAFo envisages an inclusive society where everyone is treated equally irrespective of skin colour or any other difference.
